Common Questions.
The 8 kWh LiFePO4 battery bank comfortably powers a full 10-hour production day — including lighting, monitors, climate control, and the full Starlink + 5G network stack. Solar panels on the roof provide passive top-up during daylight hours. For multi-day shoots, the battery is recharged overnight or between shoot days via mains or solar.
We're Kent based. We'll tow Unit 01 anywhere in the UK or mainland Europe we can drive to — mileage is charged at £0.65 per mile, and we'll quote the run before you commit. If your location is reachable by a standard tow vehicle, we can get there.
Bulletproof. Starlink delivers 50–200 Mbps in any open-sky location, hardwired to the roof for maximum signal stability. For tree canopy, urban canyons, or rain fade, a Teltonika RUTX50 industrial 5G router with twin SIMs and a roof-mounted Poynting MIMO-3 antenna takes over automatically in milliseconds — the client never sees a blip. Live streams keep streaming. ProRes uploads keep uploading.
Absolutely. The interior features acoustic oak slat walls and PET felt treatment, making it well-suited for podcast recording, voiceover sessions, and audio work. Combined with a completely silent power system, it's a genuinely quiet recording environment. Playback is via a Sonos Move 2; bring your own interface, mics and monitoring, or ask us to supply them.
Unit 01 is designed for dry hire — it's simple enough to hand off to any competent crew member. However, we offer a tech operator / driver at £250 + VAT per day who handles delivery, setup, power management, and wrap. Most productions find the dry hire option perfectly manageable.
We understand that production schedules shift. Cancellations made 7+ days before your booking date are fully refundable. Within 7 days, a 50% fee applies. Within 48 hours, the full day rate is charged. Weather-related postponements are handled flexibly — get in touch and we'll work it out.
